Jonah (Part 2)

Jonah 1:3-4 says, “3 But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord and went down to Joppa, and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.

Learning to Lean (Part 2)

When Israel was about to cross over Jordan into the promise land, God reminded Israel of Amalek's treacherous act, and charges them:Det. 25:17-18 “Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt; 18 How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God.

Weathering the Storm (Part 2 of 3)

Matt. 14:25-29 “25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, it is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.”

Instead of realizing that God was behind this glorious supernatural phenomenon they credit this as demonic, a ghost or spirit, but not the Spirit of God.

Filthy Garments

“And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

Do you know the Holy Spirit?

I recently ministered at a conference where I spoke on the theme ”Do you know the Holy Spirit?” As I prepared for this conference the Holy Spirit began to show me areas in my own life that I had not yielded to the Holy Spirit.

I knew He was the Spirit of Truth spoken of in John 16:13. I understood without any doubt He was indeed my Comforter as spoken in John 14:26. The Holy Spirit was definitely my mentor and teacher. He opened up the Word of God with revelation, and inspiration I could have never known on my own (1 Corinthians 2:13).

Let me lead

It was time to take our dog Tiger to the vet. Tiger’s name fit him. He had a bad habit of lunging at you, or lunging on our comfortable couch.  His playtime consisted of trying to get your hand or arm, and other things in his mouth. He was named Tiger as a puppy because of the striped markings on his body. I wonder if we had named him Striped or Marble, if that would have changed his behavior.

We had just purchased a new vehicle. As I looked outside, the ground was wet, so I decided not to put Tiger in the vehicle.
